About Sally…
My creative spirit came from sitting with my mother and learning how to use my hands to create something useful and beautiful to look at. I have worked extensively in various mediums including porcelain and ceramics as well as exploring textiles by creating beautiful counted cross stitch pieces.  My level of expertise allowed me to be certified to teach porcelain art (china painting) as well as instructing classes in ceramics.

Several years ago my interests turned to warm glass (fusing). I traveled to Virginia where I studied advanced fusing techniques at Vitrum Studios.

PMC (Precious Metal Clay) was in its infancy and I fell in love with the medium and the possibilities of combining it with warm glass to create beautiful and unusual pieces of jewelry. I received my level I and II PMC certifications in Chicago, which encouraged my passion for the beauty of these two mediums to become a business. I continue to expand my knowledge of Precious Metal Clay by attending classes, conferences, and meetings with other members of the PMC Guild.  I love to experiment by combining the PMC with Polymer Clay Canes, Dichroic glass, or enamels.

I currently create my pieces in a studio, built by my husband, attached to my home on Kelleys Island.

You may see some of my pieces at Kelleys Landing on Kelleys Island. I am also available by appointment for an informal showing of my pieces at my studio.

About PMC . . .
(Precious Metal Clay) is silver granules held together with a bonding agent. It feels similar to regular clay.  Once shaped, textured, dried, sanded, and finished, it is put into a kiln and fired from 1110 to 1650 degrees F. In the firing process the bonding agent burns off leaving a piece of silver that is .999 pure. This is called Fine Silver.

Sally is available by appointment for an informal showing
of her pieces at her studio.
