Regular monthly census was run on Saturday, the 17th. Ten individuals participated in our most mild November census to date. We even found a male Lake Erie Water snake along the North Pond trail. We totaled 61 species. 5 finch species are of note but the lack of numbers of some of the regular wintering birds like Golden-crowned Kinglet and Hermit Thrush is interesting. Also note the 22 Carolina Wren recorded. They are all over the island. We found more in areas not covered by the census route.
